Alappuzha – Kumarakom stretch of the Vembanad Lake unfolds some of the picturesque scenery of Kerala backwaters. Alappuzha, dubbed the Venice of the East, is laced with a network of canals and water bodies. Kumarakom is a small fishing hamlet nestled along the Vembanad Lake. The backwaters extending from Alappuzha to Kumarakom is dotted with a number of Islands.Take a cruise and enjoy.

Set sail aboard the houseboat at 12 noon. The cruise starts with an authentic Kerala lunch served onboard with traditional dishes and seafood delicacies (depending on the season and availability). Your itinerary for the day covers R-Block Kayal, Pathiramanal and Nedumudy. R-Block kayal in Kuttanad is a scenic stretch of the backwaters reminding one of the famous dykes of Holland. Here cultivation is done ten feet below the sea level, protected by dykes – an engineering marvel worth beholding. Pathiramanal is an island, home to a large number of rare local and migratory birds. The real taste of local lifestyle awaits you at the Nedumudy Market. Tea and snacks will be served onboard in evening. Retire to bed after a filling dinner prepared by your own chef onboard the houseboat; a fitting finale for such an exciting day. The boat will be moored at lakeside for the night.

Enjoy a refreshing breakfast onboard as you lazily cruise along the shimmering backwaters lit up by the early morning sunlight. The breakfast is of typical Kerala style with appam, curry and tea or anything of the like. Disembark at the finishing point at 9.30 in the morning for your onward journey.
