Adjacent to the famed Periyar Tiger Reserve. The Bamboo Grove Eco Lodge is the result of a revolutionary eco-tourism programme. If you enjoy camping, you'll like Bamboo Grove. The only visitor accommodation built in the vicinity of the reserve, these traditional bamboo and mud huts are built primarily with local materials. You may be met by monkeys (doors should be kept shut), there's a tree hut for the children, and food is freshly prepared in the kitchens 100 metres down the road.


The eco-development project aims to reduce the pressure on the Tiger Reserve by addressing the social and economic needs of the local communities by employing novel and sustainable methods. This also ensures forest conservation which will ideally act as a social fence around the Protected Areas. There are an array of things to be done in the vicinity which includes Things to do guided trekking, bamboo rafting, farm visits on bullock carts, tribal village visits and boating.
