This farm house offer the guests great insights in to the life and culture of the people of Kumbalangi where you can see and indulge in various activities such as crab farming, Rowing,Fishing,Copra manufacturing(drying coconut flesh for making coconut oil), Coir weaving and more...You can stay with the family as a part of it in a separate bedroom provided to you with independent access and facilities such as telephone and internet connectivity.

The farm house is set amidst the canopy of tropical trees on a sprawling compound that subtly merges into the backwaters of Cochin .

It is situated in Kumbalangy, one of the many villages clinging to the outskirts of Cochin City . The village is unique due to its proximity to the city while being tucked away in the calm backwaters as a typical village of Kerala.Kumbalangy is an island-village connected to the main land by a single bridge that directly leads to the cultural heritage zone of Fort Cochin and Mattancherry (10kms) The village 16 Sq.Km.in area and thickly vegetated is home to fishermen, farmers, agricultural laborers ,toddy tappers and coir spinners all alike. The shallow lagoons provide natural breeding ground for crabs, prawns, oysters and small fishes.

An elevated portion of Job's farm house overlooking the backwaters is converted into a well furnished suite solely for visitors from abroad. Large windows on either sides of the bedroom offer a panoramic view of the backwaters. The suite is equipped with a spic and span bath room built in modern western style. A stair case leads down to an open parlor ensuring a cozy spot to enjoy the scenic beauty. An array of lip smacking kerala dishes are offered to guests. They have option to join the host family at table.

Specialties of the home stay:

Fish required for the family is caught from the backwaters , and home grown organic vegetables and coconut oil extracted from copra is used. Rain water is collected from roof, directed to filtering unit and stored in tanks during the monsoon season. Guests have the opportunity to mingle with the local people.
