Independent Rating: Not Rated Self Accredited Rating: Not Rated A 65 year old House comforts in Moonnilavu, a small village in the central part of Kerala. The house is surrounded by a bountiful farm in which cultivates a variety of spices, vegetables and fruits.
The two guest rooms here are completely made of hard wood which are well polished keeping the elegant sheen.
The cool interiors make air-conditioning redundant, while each room boasts custom-made double cots, a table and chair along with a chest of drawers. Attached to the master bedroom, is a spare room, to use either as a play area or bedroom.

The organic farm here serves freshly plucked fruits and vegetables. Also one has enough opportunities to learn how cardamom, pepper, vanilla and the like are organically cultivated under the shade of fruit and rainforest trees.

The kitchen is run by the lady of the house and she involves herself in everything, right from sourcing the vegetables, meat, fish and poultry. Her passion for cooking manifests itself into the delicious spread you enjoy everyday. Guests can get a taste of authentic Central Travancore cuisine at the dining table.
Serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian home-cooked food in traditional syrian christian style, for breakfast lunch, snacks and dinner. Specialities like Puttum Kadalayum (Steamed rice-cake and curry dish), appam and stew and Karimeen (Pearl-spot) pollichathu are served to name a few.

Entertainment Galore
Whether it is roaming through the mountains, admiring the tall trees, fruits & vegetables, there is so much to do.

There are a number of tourist attractions, which are short drives away from Moonnilavu. Many of them are little known and hence un-ravaged by man. But they are nonetheless very scenic and a must see for all guests.

Ayampara
Stark rocky plains, sprawling across 20 acres of land, Ayampara is 15-minutes drive from our home. This natural granite stadium is ideal for trekking and enjoying the sunset on a lazy evening.

Illikal Kallu
Kallu means ‘rock’ and this natural spot consists of 3 hills each with peculiar shapes. One such shape is the Kudakallu (umbrella-shaped rock). This locale is in the midst of lush green surroundings and is enriched by the presence of various medicinal herbs.

Vagamon
A trekker’s paradise, Vagamon is steeped in natural beauty. Situated just 17 km from our place, it’s an ideal spot to have an outing, that is tranquil and one with nature.

Illavizhampunchira
For adventure lovers, there’s yet another treat - Illavizhampunchira. Rugged roads with steep rises take us to this spot situated 3200m above sea level. Enjoy the pristine beauty.

St. Peter's Church - Erumapra
Built by Rev. Henry Baker Jr. way back in 1879, a visit to the CSI Church at Erumapra is an experience in itself.

Chillachi River End
Rural Moonnilavu is ideal for cycling or walking. Just a furlong away from our home, the road winding between the rubber estates take you to Chillachi River End. This picturesque location is bedecked by irregularly shaped rocks along the shore.
