Periyar River Lodge is nestled on the banks of the river Periyar and is close to the Thattekad Bird Sanctuary. It is a bird watcher's pleasure and an exciting venue for nature enthusiasts. This home stay has been built in sync with the traditional style of Kerala architecture. Made predominantly of Teak wood, the home stay features lounge as well as sunlit verandahs. Those looking for a quiet accommodation in the busy city of Ernakulam, can rely on Periyar Lodge.

The homestead is designed on the model of a traditional 'nalukettu'. It features two bedrooms, each of which has an attached bath. Bedrooms are made of wood with large wooden windows overlooking the river. The bathrooms have been designed in tune with the theme of the homestead and spots open-air rooftops, yet provide facilities of a modern urban setup.

A spacious lounge separates the two bedrooms, with the open central courtyard beside it. There is a clear view of the Periyar River in front of the Lodge from this lounge. Built around the lodge is a large verandah where guests can relax on the traditional leaning chair or the comfortable swing, for a view of the Periyar River amidst green forests. The cuisine is simple and traditional. Those guests who prefer to spend time outdoors will be provided packed lunch.

The Tariff excludes any tour activities from the Lodge or evening campfires, for which additional charges will be levied. Children below the age of 5 will not be charged. Children between the ages of 5 -12 years will be charged half the rate.
