Turmeric
Turmeric & Ayurveda & Prostate Cancer
Curry is a staple element in Indian cooking. Curry is really a blend of herbs, and the herb that lends curry powder its yellow color is turmeric.
Ayurvedic physicians have used turmeric in healing compounds for a long time; western medicine is just starting to catch on to its many benefits now.
The January 2006 issue of “Cancer Research” published a study which shows that turmeric, and its active ingredient, curcumin, may have the ability to treat and even prevent prostate cancer when combined with vegetables like broccoli, kale, brussel sprouts, cauliflower or cabbage.
It is interesting to note that while prostate cancer is a major issue for aging Western males, it barely affects Indian males at all.
