Staying in a Kerala Homestay

Holidaying in a homestay accommodation along with its hosts provide you with an opportunity to touch the soul of Kerala from a different perspective, which cannot be experienced from a normal run-off-the-mill holidaying. You will always receive a warm welcome and experience the local customs, food and hospitality. The friendly people of Kerala will be delighted to show you their beautiful country.

Staying in a local home with a Kerala family is somewhat equivalent to the UK bed and breakfast without usually any of the poor service and nylon sheets. Our homestays are either heritage houses or just so interesting in their location that we think they are unmissable.

The benefits of a homestay is you meet and eat with your hosts, you get a real feeling for the local culture and very often get to see what and learn about all sorts of interesting local customs and activities. They always tend to be cheaper and obviously much smaller than hotels.

The downside (if it is one) is that they lack some of the facilities of hotels such as air conditioning and so forth.

We recommend that all our visitors stay in some homes while they are here in Kerala. Many feel that they make friends for life through visiting the home.
