Parichamuttukali is a group dance with men bearing swords and shields follows the movements of Kalarippayattu. This old dance from originated at the time when the ancient martial art form Kalarippayattu was in vogue.

The dance is performed on a song which is sung by Asan ( leader of the group) and the dancers in chorus, elathalam is the musical accompaniment of this dance. The din made by the clapping of swords and shields along with the music gets pace as the dance gradually heightens.

The dancers wear white loin cloth with red wrist-bands, the dance is slowly been excepted as a Christian entertainment art which was one time performed as a religious offering. The dancers involved in this has to go under rigorous training in Kalar, to learn this art well.
