3 Night Superior Kerala Houseboat Cruise from Alumkadavu to Kumarakom – 3 Bedroom

A suitable cruise for those who travel from Kovalam or Trivandrum.A relaxed way to cover the distance if you are proceeding to Periyar or Munnar after the cruise..Are not as luxurious as one or two bed room luxury houseboats.

Check in is at 12.pm where you will be welcomed into the houseboat by our representative. The cruise begins with a traditional buffet lunch that is inclusive of many attractive dishes from the coast. No points for guessing that it will have generous amount of spices and coconut. The lunch will probably be our first interaction with Kerala.

While on the cruise, you get to see quaint villages, lagoons and green patches of paddy fields. The route covers the R Block and C Block , which are known for their underwater cultivation. Pathiramanal Island which is an abode for migratory birds is a bird lover;s delight. You will also come across Champakulam Church – one of the oldest church in Kerala and the Chavara Bhavan - a holy shrine frequented by pilgrims. You will also see many features unfold before your eyes which have been hitherto unseen. Fishermen getting their daily catch, toddy tappers in action, women washing their clothes at the banks and children playing and swimming in the waters.

The Houseboat cruise will be interrupted by brief anchor sessions which can be seen as an opportunity to know the country sides better. You can borrow the fishing rods from our Captain and do some fishing yourself and see what you get. If its anything edible, our travelling chef can dish it up for you, Step down and take a leisurely walk for a more intimate tete-a-tete with nature. You are sure to attract the attention of the simple rural folks who may want to engage you with some interesting conversation. Indulge them and you get some much-needed trivia.

All your dietary needs starting with lunch on the first day will be part of the cruise package. Expect to see everything conventional on your plate, clean and well cooked. Each day evening, the boat will drift towards the lake side and will be anchored for the night. On the last day, the cruise starts early and you will be dropped off at the finishing point at 9.30 am.
