The cruise starts at 12 noon when our delegate welcomes you aboard. A traditional Kerala lunch will be served before the commencement of the cruise. The lunch will be a tasty assortment of lip smacking fresh fish and seafood delicacies. Our favorite has always been the spicy pearl spot fry and in all probability it will be yours too! The cruise unfurls many unique sights that are so very special to these backwaters. You will see country boats loaded with agricultural produce like coconuts, ferry past the waterways, which will be teeming with ducks being herded for new pastures. Fishermen go about their daily business in small country boats and you too can join the fun by hooking a fish or two and get it cooked the way it suits your palates the best. Don't forget to ask our captain for the fishing rods.
There are many attractions in this circuit including the 400 year old champakulam church and the coir villages of Thrikkunnapuzha where coir is spun into mats and other products using hand spindle. The tiny island of Pathiramanal, famous for its migratory bird population is another popular tourist spot. The brief halts of the boat would allow you to take a closer look at the village life. Strike up a banter with the happy go lucky villagers or saunter along the village roads. There are uninhabited lagoons and lively village markets to hang out. Sample the ethnic brew of toddy before rushing back to the boat.
You will be served tea with snacks, traditional Kerala dinner and breakfast on board and our hospitable crew would ensure that you enjoy every moment of your cruise. Enjoy the sunset before the boat drifts to the lakeside to get moored for the night. You can enjoy the silent night from the sundeck, enjoy a spell of indoor games or catch up with your favorite music or TV shows. The choice is all yours.
On the last day, the cruise starts at the crack of the dawn with a traditional Kerala breakfast. Now you are well into the last lap of the cruise and the boat will drop its anchor at the finishing point in Alappuzha in a few hours by around 9.30 to conclude an enjoyable cruise.
