Kaivalyam- The Retreat
The serene and the pleasant location of Munnar in itself would earn a few brownie points for this resort. Famous for its organic way of dining and living and yoga facilities, the visitors can experience the bliss of holistic lifestyle at “kaivalyam”. This stone structure exudes a rustic charm in sync with nature and offers some of the best spectacles around. Built without causing any damage to the natural attributes and landscape of the location, this resort has two units. The main block that houses the common areas like reception, lounge and dining and kitchen and another building that has eight tastefully done up cottages. The large windows and louvers of the cottages let in plenty of natural light and air while the rich teak wood furniture and the hand made lamps ensure a touch of ethnic feel. The guests are ensured of some of the most modern amenities and facilities in this resort to ensure a reclusive holiday without being cut off from the outside world.
The Farm yard is the main attraction of the retreat theme of organic living and dining. You would love to take a stroll along its full fledged vegetable and fruit garden or the rose garden. The well tended spice plantation allows you to take a closer look at the farming activities and if interested, you can try out a hand too! What we liked the best was the campfire in this resort that will tempt you to stay awake late into night, under the starlit sky. Munnar holidays are all about outdoors and there are plenty of options including sightseeing tours, trekking, tea estate walk, adventure sports, cycling and boating options at easy reach. At 'Kaivalyam', you get the best of both the worlds- an enjoyable holiday and a healthy body all at once!
