Pachaloor
Pachaloor lies 8 kilometres south of Trivandrum International Airport, between Trivandrum and Kovalam, Pozhikkara Beach is located here, 8 kms north of the main Kovalam strip.
With the backwaters on one side bordered by coconut groves on the other side beach, it is a place of some scenic beauty. It is a natural habitat for many rare birds. A serene and spectacular beach, where the backwater meets the sea, Pozhikkara is ideal for birdwatchers.
There are a few hotels here including the Lagoona Davina which was previously owned by the slightly eccentric and uncharmingly rude Davina Taylor, but the property has now been sold to some local interests. The lack of clean water and the expense of the property is reflected in the criticisms leveled at it on TripAdvisor. Disneyfied food and the lack of beach stand against this property.
