Serenity at Kanam Estate, a sister hotel to the stylish Malabar House, is a 2-hour drive from Cochin and halfway to the wildlife reserve of Periyar near Thekkady.  This 1920s plantation house is enclosed by trees and is retained in perfect taste and style. This is the kind of accommodation best suited for tourists who love to spend some lonely time with their loved ones.

The highlight of the stay at Kanam Estate is that tourists can take elephant rides on the elephant owned by the owners. The hotel is run by the same management as that of Malabar House and maintains the same standards.

The Serenity offers tranquility and great service. The rooms are constructed in traditional Kerala designs giving an ethnic Kerala feel. The whole building is designed to let the outside in. Dark inside and with slate-tiled floors.You have your own space on one of the wide wooden verandas, yet your meals can be shared with other guests.
