Kakkanad
Kakkanad in Ernakulam, Kerala is the administrative headquarter of the district, located east of Cochin.
Lying on the outskirts of the city it is governed by a special grade panchayat. The main government infrastructure is located in Kakkanad.Some of the establishments here are the Civil Station, District panchayat office, Cochin High Power Transmitter, Infopark, Cochin Special Economic Zone(CSEZ), Infopark and the Airman Selection Board.
A major industrial and residential area it is poised for greater growth with the establishment of the Smart City which will make it a major IT hub in India.
The Special Economic Processing Zone (SEPZ) is also in Kakkanad in Ernakulam.
Veega Land, one the largest water theme parks in the state, is close to Kakkanad
