AYURVEDA CONQUERS HEART DISEASES

A silent revolution has set in motion in the field of Ayurveda to captivate heart diseases since last 7 years in Triprayar, a village town, 24 km away from Thrissur town. Triprayar is a coastal area close to Nattika beach. The seeds of revolution sowed by the present senior most of Pokkanchery Ayurveda Physicians’ family, Dr P R Jayathilakan, sprang surprise to cardiologists of modern science. In the initial stage many of them pooh-poohed his claim for total cure through ayurveda. Later, they willingly conceded his claim.

The Pokkanchery family has a tradition of more than 700 years in ayurveda treatment. The next generation of the family is also being initiated to the ayurveda practice.

Dr Jayathilakan, 63, a retired senior medical officer of Government of Kerala, took special interest in the treatment of heart diseases. He fished out from memory the knowledge inherited from his father and grand father and based on it made extensive research in the treatment of heart diseases. His father, Ramakrishnan Vaidyar, and fore-fathers had successfully treated heart patients in the past. The sudden death of his younger brother Dr Indulal who was an expert homoeopath following a heart attack prompted him to think of ayurveda solutions for heart diseases. After the death Dr Indulal he asked his brother Dr Premlal (Ayurveda Physician) to concentrate together on the treatment of heart diseases. Pat came the reply, chetta (revered call for elder brother in the local language), even otherwise we have no time, then why should take up other problems. This did not however dissuade Dr Jayathilakan. He took it as a mission and embarked upon extensive study and research and came out with fool-proof solutions.

His first heart patient was one Mr Shanmughan from Bangalore and it was a cent percent success. Just a phone call from him made the Doctor think and formulate the medicines. He was a heart patient. He said that the doctor (Jayathilakan) had treated him 15 years ago. The doctor could not recollect as he had treated many. He went on saying that Allopathy doctor has advised him for a bye-pass surgery to remove three blocks in his heart. Further he added the operation costs a large amount for which he has no wherewithal and only 27 days are left for the operation deadline set by the doctor. Hearing all these, he felt sympathy and asked him to come next day with all the treatment documents. Soon Dr Jayathilakan dived into Thaliyolagrantham (authentic writing in palm-leaves), referred the modern books on ayurveda and prayed to his father (since dead) to have him strength and knowledge to treat the patient coming next morning. The morning and the patient came together. He had with him TMT, ECG and Angiogram test results. All the reports confirmed 3 blocks in the heart.

Dr Jayathilakan gave him medicines for 17 days and told him if there is relief to the extent of 25 percent after 17 days the bye-pass surgery can be postponed. Both the doctor and patient anxiously waited for the result. A fine morning came the call from Bangalore saying there is relief to the extent of well above 25%. Doctor advised him to come and collect the medicines for 17 days more. He did so and he was a completely cured man without any surgery. This good result emboldened the doctor and since then he has treated over 25000 heart patients – all with success. This includes many hopeless cases in which even surgery was impossible and predicted death in a matter of days by modern science experts.

When he embarked upon heart treatments the curative result was well over 25 percent in the first course of 17 days. The continuous research and experiments since then have resulted 60% of cure in the first course of 17 days. The patients who are unable to walk even few steps can easily walk up-to 2.5 km during the first 17 days of treatment.

There are instances of patients brought from hospitals’ ICUs with oxygen cylinder having walked over 2 km after consuming a week’s medicines. A patient who was bed-ridden for 17 years due to heart and kidney ailments and declared life only for 7 days more was also brought back to life to lead normal healthy life.

The full course of treatment is for 90 days in acute cases. For lesser acute the duration will be less. The medicines are formulated by him and supplied direct to the patients.

The cost for his treatment is much lower than the cost of bye-pass surgery – say 1/5th or 1/6th of the cost of bye-pass surgery. There is no requirement of hospitalization at all. The patient can have the medicines at his home. If the patient has BP or Sugar or Cholesterol complaints he/she gets bonus relief. The treatment for heart diseases brings BP, Sugar and Cholesterol under control as the medicines used are capable of checkmating these complaints.

His treatment also helps not to recur the block for those who have already undergone bye-pass surgery or angioplasty. The treatment is equally good to avert heart complaints of any nature.

The patients whom he treated are from near and far. Many from America, United Kingdom, Australia and Mali have got the life extended at the hands of Dr Jayathilakan.

Dr Jayathilakan’s treatment totally averts bye-pass surgery and valve repair/transplantation.
