Annapoorna
Annapoorna is known as the goddess of food and cooking. She possesses, it is believed, abundant ability to supply food to limitless people. The cooking expertise is also empowered in her.
The cooks who embark on preparation pray to Annapoorna to have her blessings for deliciousness and to have preparations enough for the estimated people.
Annapoorna is the incarnation of Parvathi, the wife of Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva is depicted in many temples with a begging bowl which is skull asking Annapoorna to give him food. The food that Annapoorna gives is supposed to be of Shakti (energy) which gives knowledge.
