Enlargement of Prostate
This is male alone disease. Prostate gland – a walnut size gland – located at the base of bladder produces a part of semen and surrounds urethra. When the men grow older (generally beyond 50 years) the gland enlarges and compress the urethra, thereby the passage of urine becomes difficult.
Urgency in urination, increase in frequency of urination, the narrow and pressure-less flow of urine, taking time to flow out the urine, frequent urgent to pass the urine, persisting urge etc are the symptoms. When the compression increases later, the urine path gets further narrowed resulting to the retention of urine in the bladder.
