Kalpetta
Kalpetta lies in the Wayanad distirct of Kerala. It is a small town surrounded by dense coffee plantations and mountains, and is the headquarters of Wayanad district. It is a quiet market town with little to boast, except its pleasant location on the edge of the Muthanga Wildlife sanctuary. It has excellent walking tracts including the spectacular Chembra Peak (2100m), the highest mountain in Wayanad.
Kalpetta was once a Jain center.Some of the oldest Jain temples in Kerala are near the town.
