LAKSHMI
Lakshmi, born during the churning of the ocean of milk, is the daughter of sage Brigu. When the gods were exiled by the demons, Lakshmi escaped to the ocean of Milk. Attracted by her stunning beauty, all the gods were eager to love her. But Shiva claimed Lakshmi as his wife. As the Moon was already with him he offered Lakshmi to Vishnu whom Lakshmi liked very much.
Vishnu incarnated her many times as fit to the occasions, as Sita to Rama, as Radha to Krishna and as Rukmini again to Krishna. Lakshmi is the symbol of light, beauty and wealth.
Lakshmi, the consort of Vishnu, is also the embodiment of love and grace. She is deeply aligned to Vishnu and her unreserved service is unparalleled and she finds pleasure in massaging Vishnu when he lies on the coiled serpent, Shesha. She showers her blessings mainly on lazy-free and innocent devotees.
