[edit] Maradu

Maradu is a town in Ernakulam district, Kerala. Kerala's first international convention center situated here.

It is famous for the different festivals at the temples here. ‘Thalappoli Mholsavam’ also known as ‘Maradu Vedikkettu’, falls during the month of February-March. The main attraction of this festival is the fire works which is said to be the biggest next to Thrissur Pooram. In this festival two groups compete with each other, the Vadake Cheruvaram who belong to the North side of the temple and Thekke Cheruvaram who are from the South side of the temple. Both try to outshine the other with their displays.

The Parish feast of St Mary Magdalene’s Chruch, Moothedom, the festival of Lord Shiva and festival in Netur Juma Masjid are all celebrated with great fervor in Maradu.
