Muhamma
Muhamma in Kerala, South India is just a few miles (16 km) from the nearest city, Kottayam.
Kumarakom a popular tourist spot is just 8km west across the Vembanadu lake. Pathiramanal, a 10 acre island on the backwaters home to many rare varieties of migratory birds from different parts of the world is a few minutes away from here.The island lies between Thaneermukkom and Kumarakom, and is accessible only by boat.
Muhamma is one of the towns on the backwaters. A cruise here will take a vistor to Kuttanad the rice bowl of Kerala. The local inhabitants are engaged in boat making, fishing, toddy tapping and prawn culture.
