Muscle Cramps

Voluntary muscles, involuntary muscles and cardiac muscles – these are the muscles present in the body.

Voluntary : The muscles which are under control (meaning we can move them as we like), namely, hands, legs, abdomen, face, chest and back. Voluntary muscles are also known as striated muscles.

Involuntary : The muscles located in the inner organs such as intestines, stomach etc. These muscles are also called as non-striated muscles.

Cardiac : The muscles associated with heart are cardiac muscles. They have the culture of voluntary and involuntary muscles and therefore they are also called mixed muscles.

Contraction of muscles from sudden chills, strains etc due to various reasons is called muscle cramps.

Remedies :

a) Massage of the affected parts with gingelly or olive oil.

b) Drink 50 ml vinegar with a pinch of ajwain, preferably after heating it.

c) Have light exercise or walk for 30 minutes daily.

Precautions :

a) Avoid drink and smoke.

b) Consume more fruits, especially orange and banana.

c) Consume minerals and calcium-rich food items more.

d) Have light exercise or walk for 30 minutes daily.
