Narcosis, Fainting & Coma
Narcosis, fainting and coma are brought about by changes in consciousness and consciousness is caused by the disturbed doshas due to impure blood, liquor or passions. These three phenomena bear dosha-wise characters. Vata induced narcosis exhibits fast or excessive slurred speech, unsteady movement and blackish or reddish face before the collapse. Pitta induced narcosis displays tendency to violence, belligerent or harsh speech; and yellow, black or crimson face. Kapha induced narcosis speaks little and that too inconsistently and wears drowsy, limp and pale. Recovery is quick.
Fainting due to vata induced result in loss of consciousness and sees the sky as black, blue or reddish. Additional backlashes include tremors, pain over the cardiac region and body ache. Pitta induced fainting patient will have fever, loose stools, yellow or red eyes, thirst and sees the sky as red, green or yellow. Kapha triggered fainting patient exhibits profuse salivation, feel heaviness in the body and sees the sky as dense dark cloud blanketed. The recovery is quick with seating, barring in kapha induced in which recovery is slow.
Coma is triggered by strong perturbed doshas penetrated to the centre for vital breath which causes impairment to the body and mind alike.
