Along the ghats beautiful hills and peaks overlook the plantations of rubber, tea, coffee, cardamon, orange – evergreen round the year with lovely cool. Plains head up with paddy fields, coconut palm groves, plantains and the like with overwhelming greenery. Down coastal area is beautified with backwaters and greenic and scenic coconut palm groves all along with unlimited sea-breeze all around.
Kerala boasts some of the surviving rain-forests on earth. The giant wide-spread dense trees and numerous lakes and streams in the forests are a heaven to wildlife. The hills and peaks along western ghats from part of Thiruvananthapuram district to Wayanad districts are the favourite havens of wildlife. Thekkady rightly grabs dominant position of wildlife in Kerala.
