Nedumangadu
Nedumangadu is a small village in Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala
It is popular for its art form Kaakkaarissi Naatakam. This is an art form practiced by certain communities in Kerala. The art form has remained unchanged here. The Kurava and Ezhavas communities perform the Kaakaarissi Natakam. There is a community called Kaakkaalas, but they never take part in the performance or presentation of Kaakkaarissi Naatakam. This art form is spread all over Kerala, but it differs in some respects from place to place. The objective of this art form is to make the people aware of the poverty, misery and suffering of the communities.
Nudemangadu lies between Ponmudi and Trivandrum.It is a hilly area ideal for rubber plantations.The forests of Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary which are the catchment of the Peppara dam constructed across the Karamana river border Nedumangadu.The Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary is famous for its wide variety of moth and butterflies besides other wild animals. Agasthyarkoodarn (Agasthyar Park) Situated at a height of 1890 metres above sea level, the forests abound in rare medicinal herbs and plants, brilliantly hued orchids and natural bonsai.
Bonakkad is famous for its tea plantations, orchid collections, good climate and Bono waterfalls.
