Oedema

Swelling of the body without inflammation is called oedema. Oedema is induced by chronic renal failure, nephritic syndrome, anemia, congestive cardiac failure, liver cirrhosis etc.

Swelling on the legs, enlargement of heart, breathlessness on exertion are some of the symptoms. The symptoms will vary according to the cause of oedema.

Remedies :

a) Crush one teaspoon each of coriander seeds and cumin seeds and soak them overnight in one cup of hot water and consume in the morning in empty stomach.

b) Mix 1/2 teaspoon of dry ginger powder with 10 gm of jaggery and consume twice a day.

c) Consume the mixture of 2 teaspoons each of castor oil and lemon juice and one teaspoon of honey at bed time.

Precautions :

a) Avoid day time sleep.

b) Consume snake gourd, radish and its leaves, drumstick and its leaves, papaya, green gram etc.

c) Avoid fatty foods, alcohol, curd and spicy foods.
