Fort: South side of the town. Tipu Sulthan built.

Jainmedu: 3 km from the town. On the south bank of Kalpathy River. Jain Temple.

Vadakanthara Temple: On the way to Jainmedu. Near Chunnambuthara.

Kumarapuram Temple: Near Kalpathy Bridge.

Kalpathy: Near town. Brahmin settlement. Kalpathy Ratholsavam famous.

Kallekulangara: 8 km from Palakkad. Emoor Bhagawathy Temple.

Kumarapuram, Ramanathapuram, Chokanathapuram: All are around Palakkad town.

(1) Agraharams (Brahmin settlements).

(2) Sree Peechiyamman Temple at Kulapalayam (nearby).

Chitttoor: 13 km from Palakkad. Chittoor Konganpad (a temple festival) in February.

Manapullikavu: Some distance from Chittoor. Manapullikavu Vela (festival) in Bhagawathy Temple during November/December.

Chenakkathur: Near Ottapalam. Few km west of Palakkad. Chenakkathur Vela in Chenakkathur Temple.

Shornur: Few km west of Palakkad. Kakkanat Ayurveda Ashramam.

Ottapalam: Ottapalam Nercha in January/February. Muslim offering.

Pattambi: Few km west of Ottapalam. Pattambi Nercha.

Perumanoor: Distanced from Palakkad. Rajah Healthy Acres Pvt Ltd.

Trithala: 5 km west of Pattambi.

Aloor: Few km from Pattambi. Puthunagaram Theruvathpalli Nercha in February.

Kattayi: 20 km south-west of Palakkad. Memorial of Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhaghavathar. King of Carnatic Music.

Malampuzha: 14 km east of Palakkad.

(1) Malampuzha Gardens. Beautiful picnic spot. Many entertainments.

(2) Malampuzha Dam. Sprawling. Boating facility.

Kootanad: Few km west of Palakkad. Anakkavu Bhagawathy Temple. Festival in March.

Kodanad: Distanced from Palakkad. Shiva Temple. Famous.

Cherpulassery: Distanced from Palakkad towards south-west. Thirumulpilly Temple at Karalmanna. 8 days festival in February/March.

Nelliampathy: 54 km from Palakkad town. Wildlife Sanctuary. Scenic and greenic.Amidst the lush green forests and the tea and cardamom estates lie some post card homestays and plantation retreats from where you can trek to viewpoints and tiny temples lost in the jungle.

Seethargundi, Kesavapara, Karapara: In and around Nelliampathy. Inter-connected with trekking paths.

Seetharagundu: 8 km from Nelliampathy. Lord Rama’s consort Sita rested here.

Pothundy: Between Nelliampathy and Nenmara Village. Pothundy Reservoir. Famous.

Kollengode: Near Nenmara. Kollengode Kovilakam (Palace). Now Kalari Kovilakam. Hotel-cum-Ayurvedic Treatment Center.

Parambikulam: 47 km from Palakkad. Wildlife Sanctuary. Thick population of wildlife. Many peaks and valleys.

Thunnakadavu: In Parambikulam. Thunnakadavu Dam.

Attapadi: 50 km from Palakkad. Extensive mountain valley. Nestled in the Ghat ranges. Bountiful benevolence of nature.
