Perumbavoor
Perumbavoor is located in Ernakulam district; it is 38 Km southwest of Ernakulam
Perumbavoor lies between the rivers Periyar and Muvattupuzha. It is near Kalady, the birth place of Shri Shankaracharya.
It is well known for its timber and other small scale industries. The timber is transported from here to many parts of Kerala, even to Tamil Nadu.
There is also a packaging and carton industry in Perumbavoor.
The main attractions in and around Perumbavoor are the Elephant Training Centre, and the Panieli Poru waterfall.
