Sciatica

Pain from lower back to feet is called sciatica. It may result from an old injury, poor posture etc. In normal course the pain is experienced in one side, but in some cases it may occur in both the sides.

Mild to severe pain generated from lower back (buttocks) moves down, mainly up-to calf. In certain cases its journey will end up only in feet. During coughing, sneezing, stranding or log hours sitting the pain will take acute form. In certain cases numbness or prickling sensation due to the compression of sciatic nerves may experience. These are main symptoms of sciatic.

Remedies :

a) Take 10 leaves of parijat and treat them in evaporation and make a paste of it by grinding. Make paste of it after adding a pinch of asefoetida and swallow in the morning. Drink some warm water thereafter.

b) Extract juice from 6-7 cloves of garlic and heat it in 15 ml sesame oil. Apply it on the affected part and massage gently.

c) Make a mixture of one teaspoon each of castor oil, lemon juice and honey and consume before going to bed.

d) Hot and cold fomentation helps relieve the pain.

Precautions :

a) Avoid non-vegetarian foods.

b) Consume leafy and fiber-rich vegetables more.

c) Consume more fruits.
