SHAKTI OR BHAGAVATHI
Shakti is also known as Bhagawati. She is a divine force finding pleasure in destroying demonic evils. Shakti is inhibited in every god. In Vishnu Shakti is inhibited in the name of Lakshmi. Likewise, in Shiva it is Parvati. In addition to Bhagawati, Shakti is also known as Sati, Durga and Kali. In one sense Shakti is the mother of all goddesses. Shakti, the power, the force, the energy, is present in all who beholds her.
The play of Shakti is a continuous and constant process. The power moves through the state of motion or motionless. Tantra (Vedic script) is footed on the belief that as long as the world exists, it is the Shakti, the Universal Mother, who acts for everything. Shakti, Bhagawati, is therefore worshipped as divine force.
