Varicose Veins

Blood vessels are veins. The job of veins is to carry deoxygenated blood to the heart from all parts of the body. Ageing, deficiency in dietary or imbalances in lifestyle causes lose of elasticity to the veins which lead to lax. Subsequently blood stagnates in the veins and veins become swollen. This state is known as varicose veins. Varicosity is caused mainly by obesity, heredity, constipation, continuous standing at a place etc.

Pain on pressing the veins, appearance of veins in dark-black colour, curving to the veins in different angles etc are the symptoms.

Remedies :

b) Gently massage with sesame oil or olive oil on adjacent muscles of the veins. Do not massage the veins.

c) Resort to hot and cold baths on legs (feet are the most affected of varicose veins).

e) Sleep without pillow support to the head, raise the feet by putting the pillow or some other object under the feet.
