A 9 day budget holiday covering the historic city of Fort Kochi, Periyar Wild Life Sanctuary, Munnar Tea Estates and the famous Marari beach.
Day 1: Fort Cochin
You have just arrived for your holiday. Get escorted to your car, which takes you to your hotel in the historic city of Fort Cochin. Relax for a while if you are tired after a long flight journey. Before the sun goes down, walk along the colonial streets with its cafes. In the evening, watch the famous traditional dance drama of Kerala - 'Kathakali'.
Stay overnight at Sui House.
Day 2: Thekkady
Wake up late, laze around on the verandah with a cup of coffee. After breakfast, start off to the historically rich Mattancherry where the centuries old Dutch Palace and Synagogue are located. Buy some spice sachets to take home for your friends. Pack your bags and proceed to Thekkady to experience the famous Periyar Wildlife Reserve. An evening cruise in the wildlife sanctuary can give you a close glimpse of some of the wild species and animals.
Day 3: Thekkady
After an early breakfast, proceed for a 4 hour guided wildlife trek. Afternoon visit spice plantations and walk around the town or mingle with people in the house.
Day 4: Munnar
Get ready to proceed to Munnar after the breakfast. Enjoy the winding climb uphill and it is a scenic drive. Make short stops at valleys and scenic spots and your driver knows it well. Do not forget to snap your favourite clicks at these spots. Check into your homestay. Enjoy an elephant ride in the evening.
Day 5 : Munnar
You will be thrilled to see the Nilgiri Tahr found only in Munnar at the Rajamala National Park. It is good to know how the tea you daily drink is made. A visit to the tea factory will help you learn the processes. On return, buy a bag of tea powder to take back home. A walk around the unending tea estates is a refeshing expereince. Relax at the homestay in the evening.
Day 6 : Munnar - Alappuzha
You are driven down for a beach visit. The driver takes a little diversion in the route so that you can visit the famous Athirappally waterfalls. This waterfall is famous for photoshoots and film shoots, so do not forget to take some of yours. Reach the boutique hotel, relax at the swimming pool or at the beach.
Day 7 : Alappuzha
Relax at the beach. Make visits to nearby church or temple and the fishermen village. Do not forget to carry something for the children in the village. Watch the villagers routines and activities.
Day 8 : Alappuzha
Relax at the beach.
Day 9 : Alappuzha
Your departure transfer to Cochin Airport with memories of Kerala holiday.
