2 Nights & 3 Days Houseboat Cruise from Alappuzha to Kumarakom

Independent Rating: Not Rated Self Accredited Rating: Not Rated 2 Nights and 3 days cruise aboard on a private houseboat which starts off at Alappuzha Boat Jetty and finishes in Kumarakom.  The cruise includes travelling down backwaters, crossing the serene Vembanad Lake and also cruises along the inlands passing through villages.


Day 1 - Check in at 12noon from Alleppey Jetty. The cruise covers Vembanad lake, R Block and C Block (islands in the middle of vembanad lake where paddy is cultivated below the sea level), rice fields, Punnamada lake ( venue of the famous Nehru Trophy boat race) lush green shores etc.

The houseboat will cruise through Pallathuruthy, Karimpavalavu, Pullangady and will reach Champakulam. Cruisers can have a visit to the Champakulam Church and the famous snake boat Champakulam Chundan. The cruisers will get to see  Pathiramanal,  a small island located on the border of Kottayam - Alapuzha. Pathiramanal' meaning  'Sands of night' located in the Vembanad Lake and is home to many rare varieties of migratory birds from different parts of the world. From there, cruise continues through Nedumudy to reach Moonnatumugham for an overnight stay. 

Guests will be provided with traditional Kerala lunch soon after they board the houseboat. Evening tea and snacks will be provided on board followed by a dinner at around 8:00pm. Guests can avail the facility of A/C only during night while the houseboat will be anchored at a convenient and safe place at 6.30pm in the evening.

Day2:- Cruise to Moncompu.
The cruisers can take a  Village walk and visit the nearby temple. Then the houseboat will proceed to Pulinkunnu, there guests can visit church and local market. Pulinkunnu is known for its houseboat cruise facilities and Pulinkunnu vallom kali, a regatta in the name of the late Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi.
The house boat will cruise towards Kavalam through Puthen thodu - a good stretch of narrow canal.  Further cruise will be through big rivers with various paddy fields on both sides, viz. Rajapuram, 6000, H-Block, R-Block, etc. Over night stay.

 

Day3:- Cruise through Vembanadu Lake to reach Kumarakam at 0930 hours.

Meals served will be of typical Kerala cuisine

Lunch: Rice, vegetables, fish fry/curry, Chicken/Duck, salads, pappad.
Evening:Tea / coffee with snacks like pazhampori or suhiyan.
Dinner: Rice, chapathy, Daal/ Vegetable curries and chicken.
Breakfast:Puttu/ Dosa/ Appam with Curry-Bread, butter, jam, and eggs to order.

Soft drinks, beer and wine to cost extra.

Hard liquor will not be available on board due to government restrictions.
