- Tapioca skinned diced 1 kg
- Red chili powder ½ tbsp
- Turmeric powder ¼ tbsp
- Coconut grated 1 cup.
- Button onions 2 nos
- FOR TAMPERING:
- Refined oil 3 tnsp
- Mustard seeds ½ tbsp.
- Onions chopped 3 tbsp
- Curry leaves(kadhi patta) a few springs.
- Dry red chillies(sookhi lal mirchi) halved 2
- Coconut grated 3 tbsp.
- Salt to taste
Boil tapioca in water.When tender drain the water and keep aside to cool.When cool enough to handle,mash the tapioca.
Mix the red chilli powder and turmeric powder together.
Crush the coconut,onions and cumin seeds together. Mix the spice powder.
Mix the paste with mashed tapioca,add salt and cook over low heat.
For tampering, heat the oil in a kadai and add the mustard seeds and the remaining ingredients, sauté till brown.Remove and add to tapioca mixture;mix well and serve hot.
