Kadathuruthy is known for a Mahadeva Temple, widely known as Thali Temple. Thousands of pilgrims visit this temple every year. This shrine is stated to have been built by Maharshi Kara. The other two temples built by him are at Ettumanoor and Vaikom. Visit of these three shrines in a single day is considered more auspicious and god-pleasing.
