It is situated in Kumbalangy, one of the many villages clinging to the outskirts of Cochin City . The village is unique due to its proximity to the city while being tucked away in the calm backwaters as a typical village of Kerala.

Kumbalangy is an island-village connected to the main land by a single bridge that directly leads to the cultural heritage zone of Fort Cochin and Mattancherry (10kms)
The village 16 Sq.Km.in area and thickly vegetated is home to fishermen, farmers, agricultural labourers ,toddy tappers and coir spinners all alike. The shallow lagoons provide natural breeding ground for crabs, prawns, oysters and small fishes.

K.P.Job is a retired naval officer belonging to an aristocratic agricultural family. During 35 years of his service he visited 22 countries covering Europe, Africa and Asia, an achievement he is proud of. On completion of naval service he worked for another six years with Customs Preventive Organisation. Now he has returned to his ancestral home in Kumbalangy.His commitment to social service activities has made him the president of ‘kolping Society’ (an International Organisation founded in Germany) of Cochin Diocese. He is also the President of ‘Sevan Society’ an Organisation formed to help the poor to help themselves, irrespective of caste or creed.

An elevated portion of Job's farm house overlooking the backwaters is converted into a well furnished suite solely for visitors from abroad. Large windows on two sides of the bedroom offer a wide –angle view of the backwaters. The suite is equipped with a neat bath room built in modern western style. A stair case leads down to an open parlor and outside ensuring complete freedom .A variety of delicious kerala dishes are offered to guests. They have option to join the host family at table.

Specialities of the home stay:
• Self reliance in food and water is the un written motto of the family.
• Fish required for the family is caught from the backwaters ,the excess is sold off in the local market.
• Vegetables and plantain are grown in the farm.
• Rain water is collected from roof, directed to filtering unit and stored in tanks during the monsoon season.
• Oil used for cooking is extracted from copra (dried coconut) grown and processed in the farm.
• Only local people are hired for work and maintenance of the farm.
• Guests have the opportunity to mingle with the local people.
• Care is taken to maintain the natural environment of the backwaters.
