KALI

When the gods were captivated by the demons, Shumb and Nishumb, who were then conquered three worlds – the earth, the astral plane and the celestial plane, the Divine Mother took the form of Kali, who is always ferocious, and went to free the gods and accomplished the mission. The Kali is also known as Mahakali. Kali is capable of undoing the bad effects of solar and lunar. She is apt to create fears in ignorant. In the non-ignorant she dispels the fear and thought of insecurity. In both the categories she wards off ill-effects.

The goddess Kali is the first among ten Mahavidyas. Tara, Shodashi, Bhuvaneswari, Bhairavi, Chinnamasta, Dhumavati, Matanqi, Kamala and Bagla Mukhi are the rest of ten.
