Breaking the rules to suit the axiom'All is fair in love and war'

Recently, Kerala also witnessed, though mildly, the fib and fiction that goes hand in hand with a bomb scare, which unfortunately has become a common phenomenon all over the world these days.
Kochi too had its fair share of anxiety associated with a hoax call that not only sent the police personnel into a tizzy but also spawned some lighter moments as well.

While the ever vigilant public left nothing to chance and choked the phone lines of the administrative offices and the press by a barrage of calls on suspicious activities,  some unscrupulous elements tried to turn this murky tide in their favour just to attain their personal goals.

True to the axiom, ‘All is fair in love and war’, a young Malayalee pastor made a prank call to the police station informing that a specific long distance train is at risk, which  needs to be thoroughly checked before allowing its onward journey. Actually his motive was to delay the train by a few hours so that he can board it along with his paramour.

A married man and a father of two, he was planning to elope with his lover to a distant city. He missed the train as he was late by over half an hour. He hired a taxi and tried desperately to catch the train from the next major halt, around 70 kilometers away. However, when he found out that he is not likely to make it, he thought of playing this prank. He along with his paramour was nabbed in no time by tracking his mobile calls.

Kerala knows to rigidly handle such rumor mongers and pranksters, who might be  on the prowl to upset the peace and harmony of this State. This is precisely what has earned this tiny state, the coveted title of being one of the safest places to live on earth.  Kudos to all malayalees who have strived to make this place a haven of peace and tranquility.
