Temple  authorities in Kerala are arriving at innovative ideas to find a majestic replacement for jumbos for temple processions that fall mostly during the scorching summer months of March – May.  A temple in Cherthala has shown the way by using an exquisitely  ornate Palanquin made in teak at a cost of over two lakh rupees for its temple processions.
