Krishnapuram Palace
Krishnapuram
Krishnapuram is located 20 km from Trikkunnapuzha. Krishnapuram accrued fame from a heritage landmark – the 18th century Krishnapuram Palace. Built with wood and earth in ancient typical Kerala style, the Palace once the home of local ruler Raja, is exposed to an attached pond with entrance to it from the Palace. The Palace with lovely scale and wind flowing balconies houses a simple museum with some artifacts from the Harappan civilization, beautiful sculptures, coins, oil lamps and a mural. The mural, Gajendramoksham is reported the largest single mural in Kerala.
