Srikrishna Temple  : Ambalappuzha, Alappuzha district. Fascinating history and legends. The deity is Sri Krishna. The idol is enchantingly smiling. Chambkulam Boat Race is held in commemoration of the idol installation. The annual festival prolongs to 10 days. The wordily sweet Ambalappuzha Palpayasm is the daily offering to the deity.

Matha Amrithanandamayi  : Amrithapuri in Kollam district. A spiritual leader. Known all over the world. Commonly known as hugging saint. The blessing is a hug by the saint. Large followers throughout the world come to witness this.

Vavar Mosque  : At Kanjirappally in Kottayam district. An enduring symbol of religious amity. Surrounded by wide corridors. A spot for breaking coconuts. The devotees going to Sabarimala come over here to break coconuts as offering to Vavar, a Muslim. He was a friend of Ayyappa, the deity at Sabarimala.

Srikrishna Temple  : At Guruvayur in Thrissur district. Very popular in South India. Krishnattam, a temple dance form, performed here daily as an offering. The temple gets elephants as offering. Presently, there are 65 elephants in its hold.

Maramon Convention  : At Maramon in Pathanathitta district. A Christian congregation. Asias’s largest congregation. On the dry bed of Pamba River. Originated to counter the Latinsation of Syrian Churches by Portuguese in 1889.

Sabarimala  : In Pathanamthitta district. The abode of Sri Ayyappa, a Hindu [[ Gods_&_Goddesses_ | god]]. A hill station. Over two million devotees visit the shrine during a period of 41 days in December-January. 41 auspicious days. Devotees must wear black robes.

Padmanabhaswamy Temple  : Thiruvananthapuram.The entrance tower with 365 carved granite pillars in its inner corridor. Built in Dravidian style. A1000-pillared hall. Haunting. Built by Maharaja of Travancore. Two festivals held. One is Pallivetta (royal hunt). Another is Aarttu (holy bath). During October-November. Royal family actively participates. They daily pay homage to the deity.

Vadakumnathan  : Thrissur district. Deity, Siva. Big temple structures. Believed, built by Parasurama, the son of Siva. The very famous Thrissur Pooram is held here. The Pooram is sponsored by two prominent temples in the town – Paramekavu and Thiruvambady.

Janardhana Temple  : At Varkala in Thruvananthapuram district. Two millennia old. The current structure is of 12th century. Access from the beach. Deity, Vishnu. Beach in front called ‘ Paapanasam’ (destroyer of sins). A bath here washes away the sins. A belief.

Sivagiri Mutt  : At Varkala. Sri Narayana Guru, eminent saint-cum-reform leader of Kerala, rests in peace here. The SNDP organisation he founded is headquartered here. The SNDP was for the uplift of backward classes.
