Sree Peechiyamman Temple

Sree Peechiyamman Temple

The temple is situated at Kulalpalayam, near Kalpathy. The presiding deity is goddess Pechiyamman. This rare temple of Pechiyamman is somewhat near the abode of Lord Vishwanatha of Kalpathy (Sree Vishwanatha Swamy temple), the place of famous Kalpathy Ratholsvam.

The temple has 25 sub-deities – Mariamman, Uchima Kaliyamman, Periya Pechi, Manchama Pechi, Kunkuman Pechi, Pappathi Amma, Sangli Karuppan, Aakosa Karuppan, Periya Karuppan, Chudala Karuppan, Karuppaswamy, Iyanar, Lada Sanyasi, Ganapathy, Subramanyan, Mathura Veeran, Bommi Amma, Vella Amma, Bhairavan, Agni Madan, Madathi, Madayan, Irulappan, Muniswaran and Nagarajan. Many of these sub-deities are unheard in other temples of Kerala.

The idol of presiding Pechiyamman looks fiery and faces north.

The temple draws hundreds of devotees daily from far and near. The devotees have so many experience of benevolence showered on them to reveal. The crowd of devotees is a testimony to it.
