A Centenarian Snake-bite Curer
From symptoms he identifies the type of snake
Kalladaparambil Chanthukutty Vaidyar, 102, of Balusseri in Kozhikode is still busy treating snake-bite hits. He is in the profession for the last 75 years and has saved hundreds of lives. He never accepts even a single penny for his service. He believes if he accepts fees he will wish for more snake-bite patients to come which is an inhuman thought.
He uses medicinal plants grown in his yard for the treatment. From symptoms he identifies the type of snake.
Traditional Ayurveda Vaidya Sangam of Kerala recently bestowed on him Vaidykulapathi award in recognition of his service to the humanity.
