Purushothama Kamath of Thammanam in Kochi is on a mission of collecting as many as medicinal plants as possible. He has already collected 1000 herbal plants. He is a Konkani farmer. Some of his community members, notably Ranga Bhat, Vinayaka Pandit and Appu Bhat had helped and assisted for the collection and categorization of herbal plants specially found in Kerala for the famous book, Hortus Malabaricus, 300 years ago.
