The country’s biggest gold chariot will be in the Seetharamaswami temple of Poonkunnam in Thrissur shortly. Rupees 4-crore costing chariot is being given by Kalyan Jewellery group as offering to the deity. It will be used in the forthcoming Sreeramanavami Ratholsavam in the temple. The chariot will be made of 450 kg teak wood as a preliminary step. It will be then covered by copper sheets and thereafter by gold sheets weighing 8 kg. The height of the chariot is 14 feet and the tower alone is 3.5 feet. The base seating height is 4.5 feet. The making artist is Thajudeen of Chennai.
