Hire the jewellery culture prevalent in Gulf States is finding a footing in the State. The new era youth in Kerala is reluctant to wear more than the bare minimum jewellery even on special occasions. This has forced the parents to think why purchase more jewellery to find its way to bank lockers or emptying in the market at a heavily discounted price. They are therefore opting for hiring the jewellery from the jewellers. Sooner than later this will emerge as a business model especially for the jewellers in the rural area as they are breathless with the advent of giant sized jewellers in the urban areas. As far as the jewellers are concerned the hire amount they get is with practically no investment as the invested jewellery is safe.

The hirers will have to give collaterals equivalent to the value of jewellery and a written agreement to return the jewellery.

Most likely, the rural jewellers caught in the vice of urban giant jewellers will try to popularize hiring culture.
