Kerala Lacks in Doctor Density
In India, Haryana stands in front with more than 4 doctors per 1000 people.
A study by IMS Health Physician and Chemist Census reveals alarming situation in Kerala vis-à-vis doctor density. As against the World Health Organization (WHO) recommendation of minimum 4 doctors per 1000 people, Kerala’s position is highly pathetic. Cities in Kerala are with lowest doctor density compared to other cities in India. The rural doctor density in Kerala is worse than in cities.
