No more Power of Attorneys
A gentleman entrusted to look-after his 28 cents land and a two storeyed house therein to his friend when he and his family went to USA in 2005 for job purpose. The friend created a forged power of attorney in his name. In 2008 he transferred the property to the name of the brother of his wife and subsequently sold to a jeweler for Rs 1.25 crores. When the gentleman Lukose and family came back from USA recently to arrange the marriage of his daughter he saw his house locked. The friend did not come to him. There was murmuring among the neighbours around. He smelt a rat. He straight went to the village office and enquired about his land. To his surprise the village officials informed him that two sale transactions have been taken place in relation to the property.
He lodged a complaint in the police station. The police have registered a case.
