Wayanad Guide

Waynad, one of Kerala's most scenic hill districts with its peculiar and unique geographical position at the Southern limits of the Deccan Plateau, is showered by mist-clad mountains and sylvan valleys apart from savannah grasslands, riverine rice paddy and tea and coffee plantations.. It is positioned at a height of 700 to 2100 metres above sea level. Bounded on the east by the Niligri in Tamil Nadu and Mysore in Karnataka, north by Coorg district of Karnataka, the south by Malappuram district and west by Kozhikode and Kannur districts. In ancient times, the area was ruled by Rajas of Veda tribe. Wayanad has the highest concentration of tribals including Kurumbas, Adiyas and paniya in Kerala, who have so far managed to preserve their traditional identities despite the gradual intrusion of modernization.

Wayanad is to access easily from Bangalore and it is a best hill station to spend your weekends. Also the sight seeing places are interesting.
