Kappa Curry


  • Kappa (Tapioca) - 1KG
  • Grated Coconut - 1 cup
  • Garlic - 5 cloves
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tea spoon
  • Green Chilly - 4 nos
  • Mustard seeds- 1 tea spoon
  • Small onion - 100 grams
  • Oil - 4 table spoon
  • Salt - 2 table spoon
  • Red Chilly dried - 4 nos
  • Curry Leaves for garnish


  1. Remove the skin of the kappa (tapioca) put it in a pressure cooker and cook for 15 mins. ( 2 Whistles)

  2. Make a paste of gratted coconut, small onion, green chillies, cumin seeds and garlic.

  3. Heat oil in a pan,add mustard seeds and dried red chillies.

  4. Now add the kappa which is pressure cooked, stir it slowly, now add the paste of gratted coconut and other herbs.

  5. Add salt and mix well, cook in slow flame for 2mins.

  6. Now garnish with curry leaves and serve hot with fish or rice!
